SCAM ALERT

To all CWD Customers:

Staff has been informed that a District customer received an automated phone message that his/her Carmichael Water District account was overdue.  The (869) area code phone number offered the customer the option to pay the bill (referencing a different account number) by credit card over the phone.

Note:  It is not District policy or practice to solicit payment from its customers by calling the customer.  Never offer credit card or payment information to anyone over the phone unless you have instituted the initial phone call.

Please notify the County Sheriff’s department and Carmichael Water District’s office at 483-2452 if you receive a call soliciting payment for a District water bill as this is a scam.
