Once every five years an exemption will be granted on the property to a customer that has experienced an increase in the water bill resulting from a leak in their private plumbing system in accordance with the leak exemption criteria which can be found in the Water Leak Exemption Regulation.
Non-eligible exemption requests include but are not limited to:
- Unattended or forgotten faucets and nozzles.
- Faulty irrigation valves, timers, and systems.
- Dripping faucets and other home maintenance items.
- Leaking toilets.
- Water heater leaks may be considered depending on the nature of the problem.
