Carmichael Founders Day
Each year District staff participate in the "Carmichael Founder's Day" event held annually in September. During the event, numerous visitors to the District's booth are offered information on water efficiency and updates on current District projects. Besides information, the booth has had interactive water fact trivia games and prizes, historic displays, the introduction of new programs, and visits from Mr. Leaky.
Nature Fest
Each year District staff participates in the Nature Fest event annually held in October. Nature Fest is a family-friendly event held at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. At the booth, District staff teach kids and adults about the water cycle by creating a color-coded bracelet while also providing water efficiency information.
Taste of Carmichael
Each spring Carmichael Water District participates in the Annual Taste of Carmichael event at the La Sierra Community Center. The annual event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael and showcases samplings of food from local restaurants and tasting of locally brewed beer and wines from regional wineries as well as local non-profit organizations and programs from the area. Carmichael Water District provides information about various conservation programs that are available to our customers and to showcase current/upcoming projects.
Proceeds go to Kiwanis Foundation's contributions to charitable organizations serving children, the youth, and the disabled. A partial list of beneficiaries of this fundraiser includes Carmichael Park and Recreation District programs, Kiwanis Family House, SJUSD High Schools Jazz program, Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Local food closets, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Special Olympic Events, Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs, SJUSD Elementary Special Projects, Children's Receiving Home, Toys for Tots, Heifer Project, Eye Glasses, North Area Teen Center and many more.
Holiday Toy Drive
Through customer and staff donations, the District is able to fill the collection bin in support of the Sheriff’s Toy Project. The Sheriff’s Toy Project provides less fortunate children in our community with gifts, computers, clothing, and food boxes for more than 7,500 families during the Holiday Seasons.
